Birmingham has figured in my life quite a lot.
I spent some time at Saint Mary's Harborne, both as a seminarian, student and priest at various stages between 1973 and the late 1980s.
My degree in History is from Birmingham University, where I studied at various stages.
I was parish priest of Our Lady Help of Christians Tile Cross in the early 1990s for three years, and then parish priest of Saint Joseph's Thame Oxfordshire for nine years before joining the RAF.
And my mother comes from Birmingham !
